Introduction to Mindfulness – Find Balance with Michele Winter,
Mindfulness Teacher and Psychotherapist
Mindfulness has become increasingly popular and people are talking about it more than ever. But what is it and how could it help you if you are struggling with stress, anxiety, insomnia and depression?
Mindfulness is learning how to be present, to slow down and live in the moment. You learn to be curious and non-judgmental of what you are thinking. Using the cognition tools you will learn your patterns of resistance and watch them unfold into more calming, self soothing thoughts.
As with all new learnings, practice makes perfect and in practicing mindfulness it will help you to manage your wellbeing and mental health.
Did you know that when the you are stressed a hormone called cortisol is circulated around the body which prepares you for fight or flight. Constant high levels of cortisol can cause severe fatigue and stress in both mind and body. This affects your behavior and the ability to handle stressful situations with others. Learning mindfulness skills and practicing them will transform and help you “Find Balance”. You will benefit by finding peace, acceptance, gratitude and a sense of calmness to help you lead a happier, more fulfilled life.
